• Use your ceiling fan all year round - This is one tip that can make a big difference in your heating bill and is often overlooked.  Warm air rises, so If you reverse the direction of your ceiling fan to a "clockwise" direction in the winter the ceiling fan will create a gentle updraft and circulate the warmer air downward where it offers the most benefit without the "wind chill" effect of summer operation.  Some ceiling fan companies report that consumers can save as much as 10% on winter heating bills with the use of ceiling fans.  So remember to adjust your thermostat when using your ceiling fan in the winter months.
